Art Fundraiser
On the advice of our Swami Shantananda ji, the value for Houses which we would like to stress this year is Daya or Compassion. Accordingly, this year for our Art contest we have chosen to do a fundraiser for the Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD).
About CORD –
- A project to provide basic health services to remote villages located in Rural India
- A training center for women in leadership skills in socio-economic, health, educational and environmental programs
- An organization helping villagers with income generation schemes so that they can become self-sufficient
Both Balavihar children and adult artists (need not have children enrolled in Balavihar) are invited to submit their artwork which they are willing to donate. The artwork will be displayed in an online gallery.

Story Telling Contest
Story telling contest was held on 16 Jan 2021 along with the Sankaranti Program live over zoom for the first time. We had a tremendous response and in Swamiji’s words the children didn’t just tell their stories, ‘they lived it’! Many of them had excellent props and dressed up as the characters themselves. Click here for a few pics and videos from the event. Here are the results.
