About Balavihar Houses:
Vision
- The goal of introducing Houses in Vrindavan Balavihar is to foster a team spirit in Balavihar students across grades and sessions,
- to encourage students to participate in academic challenges and seva opportunities,
- to reinforce positive actions/behavior through a reward/point system
- and to foster a healthy competition among various Houses.
Balavihar Houses Assignment
All Balavihar children from PreK-7th grade shall belong to a House based on the grade they attend. The teachers of these grades shall belong to the same House as the grade students. High schoolers and 8th graders are sorted into one of the four Houses using a quiz and shall be captains of the respective Houses. Each of these Houses shall have adult mentors.

How do you earn points for your House?
- Balavihar wide team building activities such as Inaugural Assembly, Spirit Day, and Field day where all members of a House work together to earn points.
- Participation in periodical House Contests will earn more points for the House.
- Geeta Chanting – Each class chants and records together the verses they have learnt. Teachers email the recording to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to earn points for their House. As long as Balavihar is virtual, teacher can choose two or more children each week and record them chanting individually in class and send it in for Houes points. Each student can send individual video recordings of every 5 verses memorized to earn additional points.
- Participation in Kalarangam and Let it Grow events.
- Eligible Seva activities or programs to earn points will be announced from time to time.

- Jan 25 (Tentative): Storytelling Contest
- Feb 21/23: House Spirit Day (Join us for the final Assembly activity!)
- March 8 (Tentative): Shlokathon
- March 22 (Tentative): Seva Day and Field Day
- May 3 (Tentative): Bhajanotsav
- Oct–May: Likhita Japa (Ongoing)

- Coaching classes will start in September (limited seats available). Keep an eye on weekly Bala Vihar emails and class WhatsApp groups for details.

This Year’s Theme: With Swamiji’s Blessings, this year's theme is "Developing a Personal Relationship with Bhagavan (Ishta Devata)". We encourage children to explore and communicate with Bhagavan in meaningful ways throughout the year.
