Register here to perform paduka puja at your home
Hari OM,
To celebrate Swami Chinmayananda's 108th birthday under Swami Shantananda ji's guidance, we plan to conduct Guru Paduka Puja 108 times in different devotees' homes throughout 2024.
The Guru's feet or Padukas, much like a Shiva-linga symbolizes Shiva or a shaligram represents Vishnu, serve as a sacred symbol of the underlying divine concept. This practice isn't about worshipping the feet themselves, but invoking Brahman, the Lord, through a tangible symbol. Worshipping the Guru's Padukas becomes a way to honor the Supreme Truth or Self-Knowledge that dwells within our hearts as All-Pervasive Consciousness, also known as Ishwara. Even if we have not yet fully grasped this Truth, this act of worship spurs us towards awakening and inspiring others to do the same. There is no symbol more sacred than the Padukas of the Guru and worship of the Padukas invoke the Grace of the Lord and protect the worshipper.
Please welcome Pujya Gurudev to bless your home. Sign up at bit.ly/GuruPadukaPuja - one of our volunteers will contact you to guide you to help you prepare for the simple puja.
If you would like to do the puja but are unable to find a convenient weekend slot, then you can sign up to do it in the Ashram itself on a weekday, guided by our priests. Please check out some frequently asked questions. See below for some pictures of puja in devotees home and in the ashram so far!
